Join us to hear from Palestinian activist Abir Kopty about her work on the front lines of popular protest movement. Her talk will address the current situation in Palestine, how Oslo influenced the will to resist among Palestinians and what are the ways to overcome those obstacles and challenges. She will focus on why BDS is important for resistance on the ground.
Abir is well known for being a key organizer of the Bab al-Shams protest village that garnered significant international attention earlier this year, a culminating moment of the weekly protests across the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
She is a feminist and political activist born in Nazareth and is now based in Ramallah. She is a former Nazareth City Councilwoman and today works as a media analyst and consultant, holding a Master's in Political Communication from the City University of London.
